Occupational therapist, Psychotherapist

Dana offers day time appointments, either in-person or virtual (your choice).

I am Dana and I am an Occupational Therapist, Psychotherapist. I attended McGill University where I earned my Masters in Occupational Therapy. I would like to first start out by acknowledging my social position. I am a thin, white, cis-gendered female with many layers of privilege to unpack and acknowledge. Therapists and other healthcare professionals are often seen as authority figures and people that hold the power. I would like to do my part to try to dismantle that hierarchical system and take steps towards a partnership system between clients and therapists.

I am an inclusive feminist and an LGBTQ+ affirming ally. The therapy space is a place where you can come and be your most authentic self and I am honoured to be able to bear witness to that.

I am a weight inclusive practitioner and tackle weight stigma by using the health at every size approach and intuitive eating principles.

I offer culturally competent care and work to understand, acknowledge and appreciate cultures that are different than my own. I work to advocate for individuals that are oppressed by systems that do not oppress me to foster an inclusive environment and genuine allyship.

Lastly, in my free time you can find me practising yoga, running, practising mindfulness, and reading. A few of my favourite books lately have been Love Lives Here, From the Ashes, and Born A Crime. You might also find me watching Sex Education on Netflix.

If you feel that we would make a good therapeutic partnership, please send me an email to connect.

Sarah Kaleem

MSc. OT Reg.(Ont.).

Occupational therapist, Psychotherapist

Sarah offers evening appointments for virtual sessions.

My name is Sarah and I am Occupational Therapist, Psychotherapist. I completed my Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Western Ontario and have been practicing for nearly a decade.

I acknowledge how valuable the therapeutic relationship can be to create change in the therapy process and I prioritize this as part of my practice. I strive to create a warm and inclusive environment in our sessions to support clients in sharing their stories.

My therapeutic style involves empowering clients by teaching them skills to better manage their emotions so they can have more control over navigating their day-to-day struggles. I aim to equip individuals with skills that they can continue to use long after the therapy process to maintain their gains. I have a passion for supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, and traumatic stress using cognitive-behavioural therapies.

I practice using the trauma-informed approach in my practice with the guiding principles of safety, collaboration, trust, and choice, knowing the profound impact that trauma can have on our mental health and well-being.

I love to spend my free time with friends and family, going to the gym, and baking. My simple pleasures are drinking a delicious cup of coffee, perfecting a recipe and listening to the sound of crashing waves.
